We measured the real mobile speed in Cologne Central Station, from the central station, on 19/09/2026. With our eSIM connected to Vodafone on 5G, the test shows 67.56 Mbps download, 7.42 Mbps upload and 73 ms latency. That is very strong 5G, measured in real travel conditions.
To put that in context: at 68 Mbps an offline map downloads in seconds, a video call runs without a stutter and HD video starts instantly. Most travellers use only a fraction of this bandwidth.
In Cologne Central Station, the connection easily handles GPS, video calls, social media, tethering and streaming.
